The surgery started about 2 hours late, though it had nothing to do with Sara’s situation; the doctor’s previous surgeries themselves ran late today. I just got word that Sara is out of surgery and is in the recovery room, though she is not awake yet. As for the colostomy procedure – this was a success and the danger of her colon bursting is now over. The doctor was able to biopsy her liver as well, though the results won’t come back until tomorrow.

So now we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief, one challenge completed which will allow Sara to regain her strength in order to be prepared for what lies ahead (of which we don’t yet have the details).

I’m not sure if I will hear anything more tonight, I guess it depends how Sara is feeling once she wakes up from the anesthesia. But of course I will post an update if I do get any new news.
